The first release of the Mission Control Content Studio is now complete, powering every piece of content published on the Plus± website.

Rather than adopting a traditional CMS, we chose to build our own publishing platform from the ground up. Content Studio has been designed around the way we actually work, combining writing, SEO, scheduling and publishing into a single streamlined workflow. The result is a faster, more focused editorial experience that removes unnecessary complexity without sacrificing flexibility.

Although visitors only see the finished articles, every page, changelog and company update now passes through the same publishing pipeline. This gives us complete ownership of our content, allows us to iterate quickly and provides a foundation that can be shared across future Boom Pow products.

What’s included

  • Rich text editor with block-based content
  • Drafts and scheduled publishing
  • SEO titles, descriptions and metadata
  • Cover images and excerpts
  • Categories and content organisation
  • Publication workflow and status management
  • Multi-brand publishing architecture
  • Integration with the public Journal

Why it matters

Content is one of the primary ways we communicate our thinking and share our work. By owning the entire publishing process, we can continuously improve both the editorial experience and the final reading experience without being constrained by third-party platforms.

Content Studio also forms part of a much larger vision for Mission Control: a single operational platform that manages content, products and business operations from one place.

What’s next

The next phase focuses on expanding Mission Control beyond publishing, with dashboards, analytics, media management and additional tools that support the day-to-day running of Plus± and future Boom Pow products.
